Nice book, but a little too much science for my 8-year old. She tried to understand it, but it's aimed at an older reader with a bit more of a science background/education. I liked it - nice read, if you've read all the H.P books.
Birthday present for nephew, he loved it!
If you are a "Harry Potter" fan, this is a wonderful book with the science and history behind some of the "magic".

It was a gift, I did not read it.
My 11 year old, who is a fairly advanced reader, struggled with this book. In the first few minutes, she had to look up "kafkaeque", "Shroedinger's cat" "metabolites" etc. So I'd call this more of a teen than a tween book. That said, it's a pretty cool entry point into some science for older Harry Potter fans.
